LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), as an internationally recognized green building certification system, provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most. Acoustical design contributes to several areas within the LEED system, including:
BRC’s president, Daniel Bruck, Ph.D., is an original member of the U.S. Green Building Council’s subcommittee on acoustics, which develops LEED credits for projects such as schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-family housing. Dan also served as Chair of the Interior Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group (IEQ TAG), which develops and reviews credits and related materials for the Interior Environmental Quality section of the LEED program.
