The Project
- Environmental Noise Analysis
- Sound Control Design
- Berm Design
- Concert Level Monitoring
This project was the construction of a new outdoor venue for A-list rock performances (e.g., Coldplay, Sting, Santana, Cher, Ozzfest, Jimmy Buffett) with a seating capacity of 20,000 total (10,000 covered seats & 10,000 lawn seating) and noise-sensitive properties surrounding the site.
Our Role
BRC investigated sound levels associated with the then-proposed 20,000-seat White River Amphitheatre, located on Muckleshoot tribal property approximately 7 miles southeast of the City of Auburn in King County, Washington. A total of four alternatives were evaluated for noise impacts. The analysis presented existing noise levels measured in the vicinity of the sites, noise emission characteristics of the site operations (including on-site and off-site traffic), and predicted sound levels at noise-sensitive receivers in the area surrounding the site. Follow-up measurements during numerous concert performances confirmed the accuracy of the BRC analysis, with all levels in compliance with applicable noise codes.
