Completed in 2009, the Mukilteo City Hall comprises 15,000 s.f. of usable space with an additional 3,000 s.f. available for expansion. BRC’s design work included architectural acoustics, mechanical noise control, and audiovisual system design. Audiovisual system features include speech reinforcement, visual presentation for portable and fixed personal computers and documents in the Council Chambers and Lobby, audio and video recordings, broadcast from the City Council Chambers, and CATV distribution throughout the facility. The Council Chambers audio system is a conference-style system that incorporates sophisticated meeting management capabilities including Request To Speak, Speaker Recognition, electronic voting and display of vote results, and distribution of meeting agenda and notes. Audiovisual presentation systems were also provided in the Council Workroom.
Designed and built to achieve LEED® Gold certification, the building incorporates a green roof, natural daylighting, porous concrete paving to control water runoff, and a wide range of sustainable design features.
