Our Role
BRC provided guidance for interior finishes to control reverberant sound in the large, two-level open atrium space. The type and area of sound absorption treatment supports a relaxed and conversational acoustical environment, and sits well with the architect’s design intent to allow visual access to the open structure. In high ceiling open-bay shop areas, worker safety is enhanced by low-noise mechanical fan systems and duct design, combined with an almost 100 % sound absorbing roof deck. Work coordination conversations are clear and intelligible, preventing any miscommunication around shared tasks when using power tools and overhead lifts.
